Hi Ladygang!! Just thought I would check in to see how everyone is doing on their 2019 goals.
Still staying strong after January? Most years I would find myself starting to slack on my resolutions come end of February or March. This year will be different though! I am determined to stick to my goals, plus I have all of you to keep me on track!
It’s so important to check-in every once in a while & go over your goals. Are you making steps every day to achieve these goals? If not, what are you going to do to readjust? If something is not working, start over & make a new plan. As long as you’re making small strides every day & staying on course- that’s all that matters!
So here is how I’m doing with keeping up with my goals:
1. Grow subscribers by 10 people per month
My growth on Instagram has been amazing this past month. It’s been a little slow with blog subscribers but honestly I’m learning that it’s not about the numbers sometimes. I am making amazing contacts through social media & I really feel like I’ve built a small community. Subscribers & followers will come- I just want to focus on being my most authentic self!
2. Planning my content better
This is something I’m on the struggle bus with! Some weeks I’m so on top of my game when it comes to planning content. Other weeks, I’m doing everything last minute & can barely keep up. My plan to fix this is to use my Simplified Planner more efficiently & to “batch” my content. For instance, on Mondays I will only edit photos or on Thursdays I will only work on my newsletter. I think once I get a plan in place- everything will be a lot easier to manage.
3. Exercise three times a week
I’ve been crushing this goal- up until this week. I took 3 days off & my body was feeling it. I’m committed to get back in the groove. I’ve been exercising 5 days a week & am feeling great. The satisfaction after a great workout is a feeling I have come to crave!
4. Learn to say No
I’ve been getting really good at this! I’m no longer spreading myself too thin. If I want to stay home on a Friday night instead of going out then that’s what I’m going to do.
5. Be Present
Ok this is something that I struggle with every day. Some days I can’t seem to pry my phone out of my hands. Other days, I’m totally engaged with what I’m doing. I was very proud of myself the other night- Alex & I rented a movie and I left my phone in the kitchen. Not having that distraction around was such a game changer. I have started to set timers on how long I’m on Instagram or working on my blog. When the timer goes off, so does my phone!
6. Meal Prep
Planning meals at the beginning of every week has made my life so much easier. The thing that I’m not so great at is making my grocery list. I always “assume” I have everything I need without double checking the pantry. So I’m either buying things I already have or need to make another trip to the grocery store. So frustrating! Taking the extra time to double check my list before going shopping will help alleviate the back & forth.
7. Ask for help more often
This is something I’ve been embracing a lot. Especially at home, this has made life so much easier. I’ve been asking Alex for more help with tasks around the home & it’s given me more time to work on my blog. Having two people clean up after dinner is so much more efficient! Asking for help is not a sign of weakness!
