So what is there to do while stuck at home for days on end? READ A BOOK!
I put together a list of books I’ve recently read that I loved & some books that are worth reading again. I know reading books isn’t for everyone. Maybe you’re an audio book fan (if you listen to podcasts chances are you would love an audio book). For me, picking up a physical book & turning the pages is the only way I will read. There’s just something about the way a book smells, the act of turning the pages….it’s just as important to me as the actual story.
Here are a few books I’ve recently read that are light-hearted, easy to read and will take your mind off of being quarantined!
The Royal Runaway– really cute book about a royal princess falling for a guy who is not your typical “prince material.” Oh and there’s also murder, mystery & family drama to keep you entertained.
Evvie Drake Starts Over– can’t stress this enough, this book was AWESOME! A great read about love, broken marriages & reinventing your life. And learning you can find love and happiness again after heartbreak.
One of Us Is Lying– I picked this up because the sequel recently came out (which I was unable to get from the library before it closed). It’s a who done it murder mystery set in a high school. Yes I read Young Adult fiction- sometimes it’s fun to transport yourself back into your teen years & get lost in the petty drama of high school!
American Royals– SUCH a great book! The sequel is coming out in the fall. This book entertains the idea of America having a royal family. SO good. It’s full of drama, love, scandals & more drama!
Winter in Paradise & What Happens in Paradise– these books (book 1 & 2 of a three part series) are written by Elin Hilderbrand who typically writes novels based in Nantucket. These two books are a departure from her normal novel (for the most part) but include mystery, family drama & some steamy scenes! The third book comes out in October 2020 so definitely read these two now!
Say You Still Love Me– I’m currently reading this, almost done! A really cute, easy to read book about two people who fell in love when they were teenagers then reunited thirteen years later. Will they make it work even though they are from two different worlds? Really cute book to just help you escape!
