Happy Friday! It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these week in reviews.
I really think my weeks have just become quite boring to be honest! Quarantine cooking has definitely slowed down & we have been getting more take out. The thought of constantly doing dishes just makes me not want to cook at all. Plus it’s been super hot here in CT, so turning the oven on has been a no go for me.
One new healthy no bake snack that I’ve become obsessed with has been stuffed dates. Take a pitted date, slice it in half then stuff it with almond butter (or your favorite nut butter). Stuff a few chocolate chips in there & you have a decadent dessert that is actually healthy! Having two totally satisfies my sweet tooth. I made a few & put them in the freezer- try it!
FUN GIVEAWAY
I’ve teamed up with my favorite ladies & design gurus from Dorset and Pond to gift one person their Southport Outdoor Throw Pillow (pictured above). To enter, follow the instructions on this Instagram post. The winner be announced on Monday June 29th! Good luck!
SMALL BUSINESS TO SUPPORT
I wrote about this small business a few weeks ago in my newsletter, but I am LOVING the sauces from Frescobene. This female owned business based out of Fairfield, CT sells frozen pasta sauces via their website & local grocery stores. My personal favorite is the Amatriciana sauce, but we recently had the Vodka sauce this week (which is SOOO good). The sauce has been frozen at peak freshness & has so much flavor to it. Look out for a fun collaboration with Frescobene next week!
NEW TV SHOW
One new show we’ve been watching- Dear White People. This comedy/drama series on Netflix follows a group of Black students attending an Ivy League college & how they navigate modern American race relations. First of all, it’s funny & entertaining to watch but it also sheds a serious light on racial discrimination that is still going on in today’s society. There are 3 seasons & each episode is about 25 minutes long. I highly recommend you start bingeing this show!
NEW PRODUCT
I’ve heard pretty much everyone say that I need to start using Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides powder. I hesitated for the longest time, but finally started using it about a month ago. This powder can be put in your coffee, tea, smoothies, baked goods- you name it. It helps with bone/joint health, hair, skin & nails. As we age, out bodies produce less & less collagen. This traceless supplement will help keep your skin youthful & your bones strong. I already see a difference in my skin! I put two scoops in my coffee every morning & you’ll see more recipes of mine that include collagen!
Be on the lookout for more summer content next week, including two new recipes (perfect for July 4th weekend) & some summer fashion!
