For the past week or so I’ve been making a new nighttime golden milk latte to help me sleep. And it works like a charm!
It is not only effective but REALLY tasty. Let me start off by saying that I really started to care about health & wellness about a little less than two years ago. I never really thought twice about what I was eating & I worked out whenever I was in the mood too (so like never).
I started to get winded easily & I just felt like shit all the time. I knew it was time for a change. BUT I always thought eating healthy meant like eating salads & things that tasted like grass all the time. Thanks but no thanks! I need to eat dessert & eat things that are yummy and feel decadent. I saw people eating smoothies with kale & I rolled my eyes. So not for me.
Cut to a year or so later & I now know that eating healthy still means eating delicious food.
Do I still love some fried food every now & then- YES. Do I still always eat dessert- YES. Everything in moderation. Also, I found that some “healthy” ingredients are actually really delicious. Eating healthy doesn’t mean eating salads & carrot sticks for the rest of your life.
Ok back to the drink. When I started reading this health cookbook that was given to me- Vibrant & Pure, I started to get skeptical again. There’s no way any of these recipes taste good. Everything basically sounds “earthy” or made from super weird ingredient combinations. But F it, I gave it a try anyways.
The first thing I made was the Golden Milk Latte. And holy shit it tasted good. It’s creamy, sweet & has a nutty flavor to it. Also it will make you pass the F out. I made the drink once during the day & I had to take a nap, that’s how sleepy the drink made me. It’s the real deal. It’s a bit of a process to make every night, but it’s so worth it.
This latte is also full of nutritional ingredients.
Turmeric is full of anti-inflammatory properties & good for your immune system. Ginger has been known to help ward of the common cold and again, great for the immune system. You can also add some cayenne to this drink for an extra kick, but I prefer to keep it on the sweet side.
I tweaked the recipe a bit (also don’t skip any of the ingredients, they are all necessary)! If you want to switch out the fresh ginger, for ground ginger you can. But fresh is definitely better.
Enjoy & sweet dreams!
