It’s that time of year- the crisp, cold mornings that turn into warmer afternoons.
I find it slightly difficult to plan my outfits in September. You wake up to a 50-60 degree morning and then it’s in the 70’s & hot later in the afternoon. Booties sounds great in the morning but then you’re feet are sweating like crazy later in the day.
My solution? Invest in a few dresses that you can layer cardigans or jackets over for those cold mornings. There are some great inexpensive transition dresses out there that work in the warmer months as well as in the fall. Wear sandals when the weather is still nice & then switch out your footwear to flats or booties. I tend to run hot so sleeveless dresses or something with short sleeves works best for me.

I tend to be drawn more towards lighter weight dresses that I can easily wear layers over so as not to add any more bulk to my frame. A new thing I also want to try this year is wearing a dress layered with a sweater on top (essentially making it a skirt). You can either add a belt to this look to define your waist more & then pair with some ankle booties.
Don’t forget hair accessories! Pair with a cute headband or silk hair scarf. Both options are weather appropriate for late summer/fall. If you’re going to be outdoors- a felt hat is also cute to add some flair to your outfit.
