Quarantine has made me get back into reading & I’m loving it.
Since my local library has been closed, I’ve been reading books that I’ve had on my bookshelf forever. I’m doing my best not to purchase books & read what I have in the house first. BUT if and when the time comes to get a new book, I discovered Bookshop.org (thanks to Grace from The Stripe).
Since Amazon isn’t shipping books (they are obviously deemed non-essential)- I’m so happy I’ve found The Bookshop. The site offers a percentage of sales to local bookstores. It’s a great way to keep them in business during the shutdown. I fully support this & will link all my book recommendations through this site now.
Here’s what I read this month:
The Nantucket Inn (by Pamela M. Kelley)- Obviously set in Nantucket, this is a great easy read about the complicated lives of the Hodges family. Each family member is at a crossroad in their life & has a decision to make. This is book one of a four part series- I can’t wait to read the others!
Eleanor & Park (by Rainbow Rowell)- this YA novel focuses on two teens who fall in love (one is an outcast and one is part of the popular crowd). The author did such a great job of portraying the angst that most teenagers go through. Such a great read!
Say You Still Love Me (by K.A. Tucker)- this was another easy, mindless read. Two teens fall in love at summer camp, but reunite over ten years later. Do they still have feelings for each other? Can they make it work since they are from two different worlds? A great love story with a happy ending!
The Identicals (by Elin Hilderbrand)- I know, I know- most of her books are the same but I LOVE Elin Hilderbrand. This book is set in both Nantucket & Martha’s Vineyard and tells the story of twins who lost touch. Loved this book with all the twists and turns. Can’t wait for her new novel coming out in June.
