I recently read Happy People Read and Drink Coffee by Agnes Martin-Lugand and completely fell in love. This is a super quick read so I immediately ordered the sequel- Don’t Worry, Life is Easy. Both of these books have a great message- don’t give up, there’s light at the end of the tunnel.
This message of hope really resonated with me. I think we all go through things in our life where we feel like we’re drowning & can’t turn it around. The main character, Diane, loses both her husband and daughter and feels like her world has just ended. She can barely get out of bed & her bookstore is failing due to her not showing up for work.
Diane decides she needs to start fresh & get away from all the memories of the family she lost. She picks up & moves to a cottage in Ireland for a few months to find herself & get over her grief. As she wallows in her sadness, something beautiful happens. She finds the light & each day gets a little easier.
I don’t want to give too much away because I don’t want to spoil the premise of the second book, but this was one of the best quick reads I have read in a while. The writing in this book was wise, heartfelt & overall captivating. I was rooting Diane to gain a hopeful outlook on life again & to be able to open her heart to a new chapter in her life.
I think the prevalent message of hope in this book is so inspiring. The way Diane was able to pull herself out of her despair really makes you put your own problems into perspective. If you are going through something right now, just know that there is hope and you will get through this. Agnes’ words were so powerful & meaningful. I totally think both of these books are worth reading. They are short, easy reads that you will get through quickly I promise! Happy Reading!
